Wyatt Earp: The story of Wyatt Earp, legendary gunman in the west. Wyatt Earp lived from 1848-1929 and roamed the western frontier towns of America. He was one of the key players at the famous gunfight and the OK corral. Wyatt survived that day, and then hunted down the rest of the bad guys.

Amistad: This film is based on the true story of an unsuccessful mutiny aboard a slave ship in 1839 bound for the US. The subsequent trial would put the entire foundation of the US legal system on trial. Three great men, abolitionist Theodore Joadson, lawyer Roger Baldwin, and former president John Quincy Adams fight for the freedom, and civil rights, of the African slaves.

So Big: Disheartening adaptation of Edna Ferber’s legend of an orphaned gal who turns into a schoolteacher in the middle of a farming town and raises her child to strive for a better life. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, George Brent, Dickie Moore, Guy Kibbee, Bette Davis, and Mac Madison. (80 minutes, 1932)

The Muse: Brooks plays a Hollywood screenwriter who’s informed that he’s out of touch until he hooks up with a genuine muse Rock, a capricious lady whose performing methods are unorthodox at best. As with tons of Brooks’ films, the parts are better than the entire thing, although his gibes at Hollywood are valuable, and some of the cameo appearances which we come observe are extremely funny. The Curse of the Cat People: Follow-up to Cat People builds remarkable environment in this tale of a lonely girl who summons up a vision of Simon, her dad’s bizarre first spouse. Cast includes Gunther von Fritsch, Robert Prudent, Simone Simon, Kent Smith, Jane Randolph, Ann Carter, and Julia Dean. (70 minutes, 1944)

Vertical Limit: Peter Garett, an ex mountain climber who gave the sport up after his father died tragically while climbing, finds himself in a difficult situation. His sister and climbing partner have been trapped in a deep crevasse while attempting to climb the famous K2 peak. He is one of the only people capable of even attempting a near impossible rescue. Time is of the essence, as the trapped climbers will soon freeze to death.
